This week saw us further finalise and perfect our set for the gig at the football club! We had a discussion about the order of our set and decided that 3 songs rather than 4 would be better. We established that our 3 best songs were: 'After Everything', 'Scattered on the Floor' and 'Over' and therefore left 'Belmont' for another time! We then decided that we would perform them in the order previously stated in order to firstly, capture the audiences attention with an upbeat song, then vary the dynamic with our quietest song and then end with 'Over' which was the first song we ever worked on together!
I felt that the gig went really well and definately felt that our band added some variety to the overall sound of the night! I really felt that the communication within our band musically is one of the main reasons why we click so well and I thought that our strong friendly relationship with one another really shone through our performance. However, some small harmony issues (due to live performance and new venue/sound) did crop up! At the next assessed gig we shall endeavour to make these perfect!
Thank you for our feedback Martin, we have definately taken on board what you said about not introducing ourselves before the first song, experimenting with counterpoint within our harmony and a more concise style of songwriting and will continue to work on these things next week.
Until next week...Bethan :)
